North Haven, CT - F+F Mechanical was awarded the 2010 Build CT Award in the Specialty Contractor category by the Association of General Contractors of Connecticut (AGC-CT). The Build CT award is given to companies that demonstrate individual project excellence during construction on commercial buildings throughout Connecticut. F+F Mechanical was selected to receive the award for its work on construction of Yale University's Kroon Hall which is the home to the University's School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. The award was presented at the Annual AGC-CT Build CT Awards Dinner at the Aqua Turf Club in Meriden.

Construction of Kroon Hall was completed in December of 2008. The building has a LEED Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The building is a premier example of sustainable design. The interior space of the 52,635 sf structure provides offices for more than 50 faculty and staff members, and includes three classrooms, a 175 seat auditorium, an environment center, a learning center, and a library. The sustainable systems installed throughout the building include an energy recovery system, solar panels, a gray water recycling system, as well as a geothermal system.

Congratulations to the F+F and Arona team members who helped make this project a success including: Valerie Ferrucci, Steve Lotto and Brian McGowan.
